The College of Lake County Foundation's
Community Giving Specialist coordinates fundraising and advancement activities.

This position is instrumental in creating fundraising and stewardship materials and projects supporting the Annual Giving, Alumni Relations Programs, and Restricted Scholarship Program.

Reporting to the Community Giving Manager, the Community Giving Specialist works closely with other CLC Foundation staff, CLC faculty and staff members, and select Foundation Board, alums, students, and community volunteers.

    Required Qualification(s)
  • Associate's degree.
  • Two (2) years of experience creating and designing marketing materials.
  • Entrylevel experience in Photoshop and InDesign
  • Computer proficiency: Outlook, Word, Excel and social media platforms including Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Experience with data entry and reporting.
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities with acute attention to detail, with high level of accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Desired Qualification(s)

  • One (1) to five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Illustrator.
  • Bachelor's Degree coursework in Design or Marketing

    Project and Process Management: 80%
  • Plan and implement content strategies across social media platforms.
  • Content management across multiple social media platforms, including Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Ability to create highquality designs for multiple pieces per project and maintain brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and vendors as needed, managing the production process and ensuring timely delivery of highquality design assets.
  • Proficient in Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Event Logistical Support: Organizes venue and vendor contracts, attendees and special guests, and other arrangements as requested and approved by the supervisor, Executive Director, and CLC Foundation Board Events Committee or other planning committee.
  • Event Scheduling Support: Schedules meetings, coordinates meeting logistics, prepares required meeting/event materials, and takes detailed notes/minutes at the required external committee, internal staff, and other planning meetings.
  • Event Calendar: Maintains Foundation events and supporting meeting calendar and reports to the Foundation team
