LVN - Behavior Treatment and Training Center (BTTC)

Role Responsibilities

The LVN is administratively and clinically responsible to the BTTC Manager of Nursing Services. The LVN delivers direct nursing services and administers medications and treatments. Documentation is completed in compliance with ICF-ID Standards and Texana policies and procedures. The LVN is responsible for the coordination of health care services to consumers served. The LVN assesses medical conditions and advises as to treatment, such as in emergency situations. The LVN may act as liaison between service providers and consumers served and physicians. The LVN travels to transport consumers to medical appointments and to pick up medications from pharmacies.

Travel is conducted with a Texana vehicle or in limited cases with a personal vehicle when not transporting consumers (with mileage reimbursement).

The LVN works a full-time schedule (agreed upon by LVN and BTTC Manager of Nursing Services) that meets the needs of BTTC.

Duties and hours of coverage may change as program needs change. The LVN is responsible and accountable for the adherence to and promotion of compliance policy.

Salary
- $23.64/hour

Required Education and/or Certifications, Experience, Skills

  • Graduation from a college/university accredited by the Texas State Board of Nurse examiners with at least a licensed vocational degree in nursing.
  • Licensed to practice as a licensed vocational nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Compact license acceptable according to current Board of Nursing requirements.
  • Texas Driver's License in good standing as defined by Texana Center's procedure
  • Two years of experience as a practicing licensed vocational nurse in a recognized hospital, health agency, healthcare facility, or ICF.
Preferred Education and/or Certifications, Experience, Skills

  • Previous work experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Job Related Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to: perform CPR, SAMA, kneel, lift lbs), push, stoop, pull hand over hand, reach above shoulder, grasp, see (with or without aid), hear (with or without aid), walk, stand, sit, identify colors, write, operate office equipment, operate a motor vehicle.
