Responsibilities:
Central Line Catheter carePerforms venipuncture, IV infusion therapy and pump usageWound care assessment, documentation and wound prevention protocol as per policyCompletes Plan of Care.
Initiate, review and resolve based on diagnosis and history Completes assessments and reassessments and required documentation accurately and timelyRenders appropriate nutritional care including enteral + parenteral therapiesMedication administration which includes critical medications and evaluates responseAdheres to infection prevention protocol including but not limited to hand hygeine, PPE and universal precautionsAdministration of blood and blood productsAble to perform chest PT, oral, naso, tracheostomy, endo, and tracheal suctioningActivates Core Measures and Septic Protocols as indicatedReports critical Lab, Radiology, EKG, + ABG values to MD according to policyInterprets cardiac monitor rhythm + performs appropriate interventionsIdentifies + responds to emergency situationsProficient in ventilation management + pulmonary supportDemonstrates proficiency in life support; code blue and Rapid ResponseAdapts to varied age specific patient populations; e.g.
infant, toddler, adult, etc.Identifies concomitant health + social needs of patientsEnsures proper discharge instructions and medication reconciliation including follow-up referralInterprets cardiac monitor rhythm + performs appropriate interventionsAssists with bedside interventional proceduresUses Emergency Severity Index(ESI) tool appropriately in triageActivates ER Nursing Protocols appropriately
Education/Experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Valid NJ State RN License
AHA approved BLS, ACLS, PALS
NRP
