- The Facilities Services Division:
- Employs approximately 150 employees
- Handles strategic responsibilities for facility planning
- Provides functional direction over various areas including Planning and Design Management, Real Estate, and Construction
- Education: Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, facilities planning, or related field. Advanced degrees and relevant coursework are preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of ten years in management roles related to real estate or facilities development and design.
- Special Skills: Experience with LEED and CHPS projects, public/private ventures, BIM, DSA processes, and educational facility design.
- Insurance: Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage
- Retirement: CalPERS membership
- Vacation: 24 days per year
- Paid Holidays: Up to 13 days

Director of Facilities Planning and Development
Salary Range: $200,100- $249,300/annually
About the Job: LA Unified School District is looking for a qualified individual to take on the role of Director of Facilities Planning and Development. The ideal candidate will lead a team responsible for long range master planning, project development, and construction acquisition programs for new and charter schools.
What We're Looking For: The ideal candidate should be an experienced facilities planner with a strong track record in managing large-scale programs. They should have in-depth knowledge of educational facility planning, construction procedures, and project management.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader with excellent communication and networking skills. They should thrive in a team-oriented environment and be adept at managing facilities operations and construction projects.
Minimum Requirements:
Licenses/Certifications: Professional Engineer, Certified Planner, Licensed Architect, California Real Estate Brokers license, or California State Bar Card, along with a valid driver's license.
