Overview:


Provides supervisory oversight to the Medical Assistants and Phlebotomists in the practice and functions, when necessary, as a member of the Medical Assistant team of the Internal Medicine and Family Practice physicians in the outpatient setting.


Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Education and Work Experience:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Three years experience in a medical office setting is required. Other healthcare experience will be considered.
  • 3 Years, proven experience in supervisory role is preferred.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

License Requirements:


  • Documentation of certification from an accredited medical assistant training program is preferred.

Certification Requirements:


  • CPR certification is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Meditech (if applicable to position)
  • Epic (if applicable to position)
  • Performance Manager/NetLearning
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Other Requirements:


  • Must possess skills in telephone, fax machine, copier, personal computer and peripherals, EKG machine and other medical equipment as required by the practice.
  • Uses time efficiently.
  • Maintains awareness of budgetary issues and actively participates in efforts to control expenses.
  • Works effectively with available resources to meet deadlines and enhance performance.
  • Monitors supply stocks, maintains exam room equipment and lab equipment, stocks daily and orders supplies from designated vendor weekly.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the practice operations and related policies.
