- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geologists, geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and petrophysicists to integrate geological, geophysical, and engineering data into comprehensive reservoir models.
- Utilize specialized software such as Petrel, GeoX, or RMS to build and refine 3D geological models of oil reservoirs.
- Interpret well logs, seismic data, core samples, and other relevant geological data to accurately characterize reservoir properties and heterogeneities.
- Incorporate structural, stratigraphic, and sedimentological interpretations into geomodels to capture complex geological features and reservoir architecture.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses and uncertainty assessments to evaluate the impact of geological uncertainties on reservoir performance predictions.
- Work closely with reservoir engineers to validate geomodels and assist in reservoir simulation studies for field development planning and optimization.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in geomodeling techniques, software, and industry best practices to enhance modeling workflows and efficiency.
- Provide technical expertise and support to junior staff members and contribute to the professional development of the team.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or related field. Ph.D. is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years experience of proven geomodeling experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of geological concepts, including structural geology, sedimentology, and stratigraphy.
- Carbon capture sequestration experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Petrel and excel required-Petra and Python optional.
- Experience working with well log analysis, seismic interpretation, and reservoir characterization techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex geological data and integrate multiple datasets into cohesive reservoir models.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship in all aspects of work.
