Job Objective:
Supports the daily shop operations of various testing, repair and maintenance activities. Under direct supervision, performs varied tasks of intermediate complexity while keeping records of maintenance work performed.


Essential Job Responsibilities:


  • Assists the Shop Management by ensuring equipment operation and reliability by inspecting, assessing and following operating instructions; troubleshoots and repairs equipment as needed.
  • Maintains required supplies, tools and responsible for organizing the shop facility.
  • Assists with correcting equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing components, parts, or systems.
  • Verifies equipment performance by conducting tests and adjusting controls and systems.
  • Maintains records of equipment maintenance, servicing and repairs.
  • Assists to make sure equipment, parts, supplies and tools are in stock and in good repair.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repair.
  • Maintains safe and clean environment by complying with procedures.

Qualifications:


  • Two (2) or more years of equipment maintenance, construction and repairs along with a willingness to learn about new resources used in the industry.
  • Knowledge of refinery turnaround planning, execution and scheduling.
  • Experience using semiautomated or automated tools and machines.
  • Experience working with drains, safety valves etc. is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Education:


  • High School Diploma or GED required

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:


  • Valid Driver's License
  • Active TWIC Card

Physical Requirements:


  • Work is generally performed in shop space.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must repeatedly stand, stoop, speak, listen, and use hands to seize, grip, hold, reach, turn, lift, or carry objects 40 lbs. or more, and use equipment requiring high dexterity.
  • Specific hearing and vision abilities required by this job include good hearing and good near and distant vision.

Work Environment:


  • Potential exposure to dust (chemical and environmental), fumes (chemical and fluids), exhausts and highly pressurized fluids.
  • Occasionally work under extreme climate conditions (excessive high heat index of 95+degree Fahrenheit, 98% humidity; and subzero weather conditions) relative to geographic location.
  • The noise in the environment is quiet, but some equipment will be above 95 decibels.
