    Description

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs skilled repairs and routine maintenance of vehicles, motor equipment, and handheld equipment (such as chainsaws, snow blowers, pumps, weed whackers and lawn mowers').
    • Must possess the ability to diagnose, trouble shoot & repair gasoline and diesel engines.
    • Must have the ability to use electronic scan tools to assist in diagnosing vehicle and equipment concerns.
    • Performs tune-ups, repairs electrical systems, repair and or replace brake systems and perform general scheduled maintenance on vehicles and equipment as directed.
    • Removes and disassembles diesel and gasoline engines, replaces faulty or worn parts.
    • Perform engine overhauls and related welding and metal working duties.
    • Supervises a small crew of workers at a lower skill level.
    • Performs all related repairs, routine maintenance and duties to snow equipment and assist in all snow operations as directed.
    • All members are required to be available to work snow & ice related emergencies as declared by the Mayor or the Mayor's designee.
    • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Must posses a valid Class B Driver's License
    • High School Diploma required.
    • Must possess a Massachusetts 2A Hoisting License or acquire one within 9 months of hire date.
