Position Details:

The Human Resources Analyst touches all aspects of the team member experience and lifecycle within Grainger's Supply Chain, Operations and Customer Experience (SCOCE) organization.

Reporting directly to the Senior Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Analyst works with a team of aligned HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to help drive the implementation and continuous improvement of reporting, analytics and interpretation of HR data for team members across SCOCE.


Additionally, the Human Resources Analyst serves as an HR Business Partner to team members and front line leaders in Grainger's the Supply Chain organization, supporting goals such as building talent, engaging team members, leader effectiveness, change projects, enhancing culture and improving performance.

This position is hybrid in nature requiring presence onsite at our Lake Forest, IL offices.


You Will:


  • Pull and analyze workforce data to assess the health of the organization and support executive level talent reporting
  • Identify, develop and provide analytics to support the development and refinement of HR initiatives
  • Generate standard and ad hoc reporting using various HR systems
  • Partner with HRBP teams to support their goals and identify process improvements
  • Collaborate with HR Center of Excellence partners and other HR Analysts to execute and enhance current HR and reporting processes
  • Help develop and deploy our human capital strategy
  • Support the execution of cycle HR events such as talent reviews, calibration sessions, annual compensation review, engagement surveys and reorgs
  • Coach front line managers to make the right decisions when it comes to people and talent
  • Support relevant HR projects for SCOCE organization

You Have:


  • BA/BS or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in related field, working knowledge of HR practices
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite
  • Experience with Power BI and/or data visualization techniques preferred, experience with SAP SuccessFactors a plus
  • Ability to draw conclusions and tell a story through data
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong ability to manage confidential information, influence, think strategically, diagnose and solve problems
  • Ability to prioritize work independently in a rapidly changing environment, manage stakeholder expectations and build trusted relationships
  • Commitment to highest quality of service and continuous improvement
