Job Summary:***The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Instructional Leader assists the Executive Director of CTE, site principals, and CTE teachers in administering, monitoring and implementing the requirements for a quality CTE program and all grant requirements. Provides leadership and support for the staff and collaborates with administrators, instructional staff, and community members in assuring that appropriate CTE curriculum and instructional practices are occurring in all classrooms and assists the principal in administration and supervising the instructional program. The Instructional Leader meets with CTE teachers individually and in small groups, with local, regional and statewide members of the public involved in CTE, and professional learning communities to support implementation of CTE program requirements.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists school administrator (e.g. budgets, staffing, enrollment, status of curriculum******implementation, regulatory compliance, curriculum standards, etc.) for the purpose of providing information required for developing administrative reports and supporting them in the overall leadership of site operations.

  • Assists with placing department student teachers for the purpose of providing first line leadership support to student teachers

:


  • Collaborates with other personnel regarding instructional techniques and best practices, curriculum development, professional responsibilities, students' needs, etc. for the purpose of providing guidance and mentoring

:


  • Conducts department and cross curricular meetings (e.g. interpreting regulatory policies; planning and implementing curriculum; addressing textbook evaluations, operational issues, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating and receiving information and ensuring service delivery in compliance with established guidelines

:


  • Confers with other departments and other personnel instructional techniques, development of curriculum, supervision guidelines and responsibilities, students' needs, etc. for the purpose of providing guidance and mentoring

:


  • Identifies and monitors program needs for the purpose of providing recommendations of expenditures for activities, equipment, supplies, etc. that will enhance the assigned program

:


  • Implements curriculum modifications, policies, procedures and/or processes for the purpose of providing direction and complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines

:


  • Observes classroom instruction informally and formally for the purpose of assessing the implementation of established curriculum, instructional techniques and classroom management

:


  • Responds to personnel issues for the purpose of addressing, ensuring, and maintaining a high level of professional practice/competencies

:


  • Serves as a resource to Department personnel (e.g. new teacher orientation, instructional process, classroom management, curriculum, etc.) for the purpose of acting as a liaison between site administration and department staff, and providing support, guidance and mentoring when requested based on their knowledge and experience to maintain a high level of competencies within the department

  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required (Education & Experience)

  • Must have 35 years experience as a certified CTE educator

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Arizona Department of Education CTE certification for a specific industry, or demonstrate the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of employment

  • Must maintain Certificates and/or Licenses
