    Job Overview

    The University of Cincinnati/UC Health Timothy Freeman, MD, Center for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities announces a search for a Behavioral Health Director.

    Our IDD center is committed to developing its behavioral health services to meet the unique needs of the patient population.

    Services include psychiatry, psychotherapy, behavioral health care management, community navigation, and behavioral intervention programs.

    The IDD Center is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Director to lead these efforts (20% protected time) and provide clinical care to patients within the Center (80% clinical).

    Applicants can anticipate working collaboratively with colleagues at the University of Cincinnati, UC Health, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, and state developmental disabilities service programs.

    This individual will have a faculty appointment with the UC Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience, and salary and rank will be commensurate with experience.

    Essential Functions


    • Provide high-quality and population focused clinical care in an outpatient setting at the Freeman Center.
    • Provide education and support regarding behavioral issues to medical school faculty, attending physicians, nursing staff, residents, interns, medical students, and other trainees as requested and/or needed.
    • Lead the development of the behavioral health disabilities program in the outpatient and inpatient settings.
    • Perform related duties based on department need.
    Required Education

    Doctoral Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychology (PhD. Or PsyD.).

    Required Trainings/Certifications

    Licensed Psychologist or licensed eligible in the State of Ohio.

    Required Experience

    Three (3) years of clinical counseling experience.

    Additional Qualifications Considered

    Clinical and academic interests in the psychiatric and psychosocial impact of disabilities.
