Position:
Material Handler


Pay:
$18.00 per hour to start


Shift:
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. + OT as needed


Scope of Position:

Material Handler, loading and unloading of freight and goods breaking down of pallets, building of pallets and inventory order.


Requirements:

Must be able to lift 40 pounds or more, physically able to work this position.


Key Responsibilities:


Essential Functions:

  • Moves materials off trucks, pallets or racks and prepares orders for shipment while sorting and segregating materials onto correct pallets or other locations based on item number.
  • Place labels on boxes or pallets as instructed in the process
  • Wrap pallets with stretch wrap and other packaging supplies
  • Put away product in designated warehouse locations
  • Identify damage, loss, or surplus of materials and communicate issues
  • Utilizes RF (Radio Frequency) equipment to track product
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, bend, lift, push and pull and withstand temperatures in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Keep clean and safe work environment
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations, including safety.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1 year of relevant warehouse and distribution experience preferred
  • Must be able to multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong attention to detail

New Employee Training:


  • Show employee warehouse layout.
  • Train employees with an RF scanner. (Show proper unplugging and plugging of equipment.)
  • Train employee with ISO
  • Assist coworkers with incoming freight to familiarize self with product
  • Show employees proper stacking methods to put products away.
  • Have new employees pull willcalls to practice with proper stacking.
  • Train employees with pallet jacks.
