Quality Control Technician
Sawyer Composite | Fort Worth, TX
Full Time | Monday-Friday | Overtime as Needed
Reports to: Quality Manager

Job Purpose
To perform visual and dimensional inspections on incoming, in-process, and finished products to ensure conformance to drawings and specifications and contribute to the achievement of the Quality Objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform visual/dimensional inspections for in-process and final inspections as required
- Perform inspection and testing of parts and tooling for compliance with drawings and/or other specifications
- Prepare FAI documentation and complete inspection reports and travelers for all inspections
- Perform incoming receiving inspection by measurement, visual, and/or confirming certification documents from vendors for conformance to requirements
- Prepare quality documentation, Certificates of Conformance, and Material Certs
- Perform calibration of internal measuring equipment per the calibration log
- Scan travelers and other required documents and records
- Communicate and support both Engineering and Production with in-process work
- Review and sign off on special processes (cure cycles)
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education (High School Diploma or GED required). Technical school preferred. Experience will be accepted in lieu of education.
- 5 years of composite manufacturing or INSPECTION experience
- Experience working in an ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality System
- Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be proficient in using calipers, micrometers, and manual and digital gauges
- Must be able to accurately read drawings and interpret specifications
- Utilization of test equipment (Surface Roughness Gage, Hardness Impresser)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Able to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team
- Organized, efficient time management
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs without assistance; must be able to bend, stand, and stoop for long periods of time
- CMM knowledge/experience is a plus
Working Conditions
This position will be performed in an air-conditioned production floor environment. Possible exposure to elevated noise, dust, and fumes may occur. Appropriate PPE will be provided.
Physical Requirements
This position may require employees to:
- Remain in a stationary position for a prolonged period
- Spend extended hours in front of a computer screen
- Lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
