We are on the hunt for a Transmission & Distribution Line Designer who has a passion for the power delivery industry.

You'll get to work side by side with our project team on high, medium and low voltage utility projects on various aspects of transmission and distribution line design, including 3-D modeling, structure design, construction package development, routing studies, field investigations and more.

You will have the opportunity to see a project you've worked on all the way through to the construction phase, which means some travel to client sites may be required (and that excites you).

A DAY IN THE LIFE MIGHT INCLUDE:

  • Partnering with internal teammates, external clients, and external contractor partners.
  • Producing clear and concise plan & profile drawings, route maps, sag charts, new designs for grading, grounding, foundations, structures.
  • Coordinating project development on small, routine projects, including equipment problems, and design modifications required by project changes. (Design, construction, or system emergency)
  • Providing support for well executed team efforts on projects including planning, scheduling, cost and budget control, and communication to the project team members and management.
  • Emphasizing safety and giving due consideration to avoid unsafe practices and or equipment installations.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • Associate degree in one of the following fields of study: drafting, design, electronics, engineering, GIS, or other related field
  • 2+ years of experience in utility work preferred
  • Experience in MicroStation and AutoCAD are preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively participate as part of a project team

PHYSICAL EXPECTATIONS OF ROLE:


  • The job does require the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation, as well as attend occasional client meetings and site visits.

Salary:

$25 - $32 per hour
