What do Print Technologists (m/f/d) actually do?

Print technologists and technicians use various machines and processes to produce printed materials, such as packaging. They analyze printing orders for technical feasibility and check if the printing data is complete and usable.

They also plan the workflow, inspect printing forms (which they may also create themselves), or prepare data for digital printing processes.

During the largely automated printing process, they monitor the accuracy of the print and color dosage to ensure consistent high quality of the end product.

Depending on the order, they may also enhance the finished print sheets through varnishing. After printing, they clean the machines, check their functions, and replace parts if necessary.
