IF contract, pay scale is $27+ and if DH, then 65-70k DOE salary

Looking for a candidate who is Ethical, Professionally aggressive, Experienced with ERP Systems, Great Plains experience (a plus), Automobile experience (a plus), Manufacturing experience, Six Sigma, and Blue print reading


Description:

The Purchasing Buyer is responsible for supporting initiatives that lower material costs, result in more responsive supplier performance, provide process and service improvements, and enhance productivity throughout the supply chain.

Responsibilities:

• The position is responsible for the procurement of materials, supplies and equipment including: negotiating with vendors as assigned, monitoring vendor performance to include score cards, and working to guarantee the timely delivery of goods at the lowest cost and highest quality; and, ensuring procurement procedures conform to ISO standards.
• The incumbent is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations with sound and accurate purchasing schedules/methodologies; he/she and works closely with production to ensure raw materials are available to meet the Companys manufacturing needs and utilizes Open Order Reports/Stock status report and SSR reports to follow up and expedite material to ensure on time delivery.
• The position may, as assigned, act as the lead negotiator in purchasing activities and may be responsible for analyzing potential suppliers; and, researching delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability.
• He/she ensures purchasing policies and account/credit terms are followed; negotiates and/or prepares purchase orders when appropriate and obtains needed approvals; ensures and verifies material specifications, pricing and delivery dates; and, resolves chronic delivery or quality issues.
• The buyer is responsible for verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, rectifying discrepancies and damages; and, updating GP with shipment dates and PO confirmation; she/he maintains an accurate, up to date record keeping system; files and logs POs and packing slips.
• The position prepares, maintains and reviews purchasing files and materials price lists; he/she tracks the status of requisitions, contracts and orders, locates suppliers, calculates the cost of orders, and forwards invoices for payment.

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Business or Manufacturing and 6 years experience in materials purchasing or material management; or equivalent education and experience.
• Must be computer literate on Microsoft Office; GP experience preferred and advanced skills in Excel is required.
• Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, speak clearly.
• Strong process orientation: Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures; proficient in Microsoft Office software.
• Excellent organization and time management skills; demonstrated ability in organization and delegation skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties under tight time constraints.
