Description

SUMMARY:

Set up and perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures.
Maintain laboratory equipment and environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set up laboratory equipment and conduct testing on customer products.
Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration and minor repairs to instrumentation/equipment.
Perform routine housekeeping including cleaning of equipment and lab areas.
Maintain, store and properly dispose of materials as needed.
Responsible for receiving and shipping of equipment.
Demonstrate safe work practices in accordance with laboratory and company policies.
Perform daily and periodic verifications of test equipment.
Assist the engineering staff in lab related duties.
Record test results and describing procedures used.
Be capable of reading and understanding schematics and manufacturing/testing instructions.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities

Knowledge of proper laboratory techniques and protocols.
Knowledge of operation and maintenance of test equipment.
Interact effectively with internal team members across the organization.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent education

Experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Office and laboratory environments.
Work may include standing for long periods of time.
Lifting associated with shipping and receiving, 50 lbs.

Equipment Used

Personal Computer
Various lab test equipment

Travel Required

Ability to travel to client and/or other TUV locations as required (less than 5%); requires Valid Driver's license.
