    Job Overview:

    As a Project Engineer, you will be an integral part of our dynamic engineering design team, working under the guidance of a Project Manager or Principal of the Firm. Our diverse range of projects encompasses municipal/public works initiatives, commercial and private developments, single and multifamily projects, and water resources. Your role will involve leveraging your technical expertise to complete design and analysis tasks using various engineering software. Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing the work of a staff engineer or CAD Technician and preparing comprehensive site/civil construction documents for project execution.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the Project Manager in the preparation of civil design plans and specifications. This includes offering technical support and creating detailed design plans such as site plans, grading plans, utility plans, drainage plans, and profiles, while also preparing opinions of probable construction costs.
    • Conduct modeling and calculations, covering drainage analysis, water and sewer usage, slope calculations, pipe design, weir and orifice calculations, and channel analysis. Utilize relevant software and review design analyses performed by a graduate engineer.
    • Generate technical reports, letters, and maintain project schedules using the Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Delegate project tasks to staff engineers and CAD technicians, ensuring coordination with the Project Manager to meet project scope and design standards.
    • Prepare engineering and design documents utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree from an ABET accredited college or university.
    • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, with eligibility to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) registration from the Texas Board of Professional Engineering and Land Surveyors. Possessing a PE license is advantageous.
    • 4 to 9 years of experience in civil engineering or a related field, demonstrating familiarity with engineering design principles, regulations, and techniques relevant to the Project Engineer's expertise.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with engineering programs such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, PondPack, and StormCAD is essential. Additionally, the Project Engineer is expected to have the ability to train graduate/staff engineers on these software programs.
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, effective communication abilities (both oral and written), and professionalism in client/public agency interactions.
    • Reliable, dependable, and capable of leading members of the design team, with the flexibility to adapt to changing deadlines or client needs.
