Position Description:
Join Applied Medical and be at the forefront of revolutionizing medical device manufacturing. As part of our Biological Sciences team, you will be working
onsite
at our global headquarters implementing laboratory testing.

The Microbiology Laboratory Technician must be capable of working within a team environment, striving to meet or exceed customer expectations by committing to continuous improvement in work quality and maintaining all laboratory records following specifications.


Key Responsibilities:

Microbiology Techniques**: You should have a solid understanding of microbiology and be proficient in techniques such as culturing, staining, and microscopy. Microbiological techniques which enable you to identify and characterize microorganisms.

Sterilization and Aseptic
Techniques: Maintaining sterile conditions in the laboratory and practicing proper aseptic techniques to prevent contamination of samples and equipment.

Attention to Detail: Attention to detail skills ensure that you follow protocols and procedures accurately to ensure the validity of the results. You will also need to be able to identify the source of problems by reviewing your procedures and methodology, which can lead to insights for improvement or adjustments.

Report Writing and Documentation**:Documenting experimental procedures, results, and conclusions in detailed laboratory reports. This may involve writing technical reports, maintaining laboratory notebooks, and adhering to regulatory documentation requirements.

Quality Control and Assurance:Ensuring the quality and accuracy of laboratory procedures by following established protocols, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety regulations and standards.


Performance Objectives:


  • Within your first _30 days_:_
  • Complete all Applied Learning foundational courses with a passing grade of 95% or above, demonstrating rapid integration into company processes.
  • Participate in team meetings and operations, contributing valuable insights and ideas to at least three team discussions.
  • Start training on current testing procedures.
  • Within _60 days_:_
  • Exhibit a strong technical understanding of the projects.
  • Support team meetings and agendas.
  • Take on one or more projects that require low to moderate guidance.
  • Take ownership of low to moderatelyguided projects, demonstrating leadership and initiative.
  • Within _90 days_ to one year:_
  • Develop interpersonal connections and relationships with others to effectively accomplish project objectives and deliverables.
  • Lead moderate to complex projects with mínimal guidance or direction.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Applied's Quality Management System and effectively troubleshoot challenges or obstacles that may affect project timelines.
  • Handle a variety of projects on your own.

Position Requirements:

  • Work Schedule is Tuesday-Saturday 8:00am5:00pm.
  • Bachelor's degree in biology/microbiology or a related field with preferred previous experience in laboratory management.
  • Technical knowledge of microbiological techniques and laboratory procedures.
  • Knowledge of test procedure standards and guidelines.
  • Analytical, meticulous, and detailoriented.
  • Assertive, curious with passion and good communication skills.
  • Friendly, good attitude, customer service oriented.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to understand Laboratory test methods, SOPs, and other laboratoryrelated practices.
  • Decisionmaking thought process.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Preferred knowledge of ISO 9001. ISO 13485, and/or ISO 17025.
