Court Services Document Technician
Anticipated Salary Range:
$38,000 - $50,000
Starting Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience
The State Corporation Commission (SCC) seeks a Court Services Document Technician to join the Document Control Center (DCC) within the Court Services section of the Clerk's Office.
The Court Services Document Technician works directly with SCC Commissioners and Hearing Examiners, as well as externally with attorneys, paralegals, and other public stakeholders.
This position offers continuous training, professional development, and growth opportunities within the Court Services section, Clerk's Office, and SCC.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the workflow and data entry of case and hearing filings, subpoenas, and other confidential court documents
- Serve as an information resource and handle complex requests for information
- Process time sensitive documents such as service of process and subpoenas
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures
- Assess complex legal filings and the accuracy of records and filings
- Provide courtroom support as a bailiff when needed
- May provide guidance and mentoring to DCC staff
- May participate in business process improvements and the development of new processes and procedures to ensure efficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of relevant experience in document management, processing, and data entry of court records or other related documents
- Ability to understand, validate, and comply with state mandated codes, rules, and regulations
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible, handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and maintain effective working relationships within Court Services, Clerk's Office, SCC, and with external stakeholders
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication, and peopleoriented demeanor
- Demonstrated adaptability, ability to grow, and eagerness to learn
- Any experience and/or knowledge of the functions performed in the Clerk's Office is considered a plus
