    Identify PPAP(Production Parts Approval Process) requirements;


    • Dimensional Reports, Process Flow, Control Plan, PFMEA, DFMEA, Materials Certificate, etc.;
    • Lead and manage nonconforming supplier quality investigations with containment, rework, and permanent corrective action;
    • Apply advanced knowledge of manufacturing and engineering processes to guide improvement and solutions;
    • Lead and drive supplier performance improvements;
    • Project management to include documented project plan with specific actions and deadlines;
    • Education / Training
    Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical) or equivalent training and experience.
    MS in engineering or MBA.
    Quality professional with experience and knowledge of engine system, assembly, fabrications, welding, and machining;


    • Knowledge of PPAP, control plans, capability analysis;
    • change agent qualities;
    • Creative thinking capability for problem solving, 8D, 5Y methodology;
    • Ability to travel up to 40%.
    Background in quality principles (APQP, AIAG, etc.);


    • Knowledge of six sigma, lean manufacturing and corrective action planning; Strength – Position involves work in a standard office environment and manufacturing environment. Motion – Position requires standard repetitive motions and hand/eye coordination associated with research and central office communications;
    • Work Environment – Position will typically be located in an office environment;
    • Emotional Demands – Position is vital to the organization, as no service or support product can enter multiple Progress Rail facilities without PPAP; Safety Focus – Work environment could range from various internal or external manufacturing facilities and industrial locations.
