Description

Efland State-certified social assistants support professionals in the fields of nursing and education.

They assist, among other things, in the care of families in difficult situations or in the care of those in need.

People with disabilities also require support in their daily lives.

The areas of activity are very diverse, as are the people with whom social assistants work. They are involved in counseling sessions with children and adolescents or their parents. In youth work, they organize parties or concerts and help with the design of meaningful leisure activities.

The connection between theory and practice is of great importance at the Higher Vocational School for Social Pedagogy at SRH.

During the first year of training, our participants complete internships.

The content of the theoretical training is divided into two areas, the so-called general education and vocational education, and includes the following topics:

Religion/ethics
Foreign language

Vocational education area

Anthropology
Media education
Fundamentals of theory and practice of social pedagogy
Body and movement
Education
Care
Nutrition and household management
Design of the living environment
Vocational practice in the field of social pedagogy
Practice reflection

The duration of the training is two years in total. The admission requirement is a middle school diploma.

Frankfurt, annually on the first day after the Hessian summer
