- Work with the Director, Sales Department and interdepartmentally to manage supply chain logistics, including routing and truck utilization strategies to create greater efficiencies.
- Handle internal challenges and elevated external client complaints and strive to find pro-active ways to reduce.
- Distribute the dispatch routing and all related information to the designated department representative in an accurate and timely manner
- Investigate customer complaints and resolves problems
- Ensures department compliance of DOT rules regulations for hours of service, pre-post trip inspections and maintenance.
- Monitors delivery times and manages against standards.
- Assure delivery appointments are made in a timely manner to meet customer requirements.
- High School diploma or related experience is required
- Experience in fleet dispatching and routing internal fleet
- At least 3 years experience using Omnitracs and Mobilecast software programs
- Valid drivers license: dispatch, routing and/or driving experience is a strong plus
- Basic geographical knowledge.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment, possess strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, and have a strong desire for continuous improvement and pro-active results; demonstrated ability to look at challenges and create long term solutions.
- Initiative, self-motivation, and intrinsic desire for excellent results. Dedication to internal and external customer service. Strong communication written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Bachelors Degree
- 3- 5 years of related management experience
- Prior experience working in a Produce Distribution Center.
- Transportation, Logistics or related subject preferred
- Ability to influence clients and staff at all levels and manage up appropriately.
- Flexibility and adaptable to change in work assignments and priorities.
- Able to work the hours necessary to get the job done.
