- Teaching core and elective courses at the undergraduate level. Candidates will typically teach 12 credit hours per semester.
- Academic and career advising and mentoring to students.

- Participation in service through community engagement and professional societies that are relevant to the disciplines of Political Science, Philosophy, Legal Studies, and the Social Sciences.

- Mentoring students in the research process.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Doctorate in Political Science from an accredited college or university. ABD candidates, however, will be considered if degree is conferred by the effective date of appointment. A Juris Doctorate alone does not serve as qualification for this position.
- Evidence of effective university-level teaching from a 4-year accredited university.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with Canvas or a related Learning Management System. Proficiency with video conferencing technology (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet).
- Ability to effectively instruct in face-to-face and virtual learning formats.
- Ability to teach coursework in the existing Undergraduate and Graduate Programs.
- Ability to produce publishable peer-reviewed research.
- Ability to present information and research in multiple settings.
- Demonstrated growth in cultural competence, awareness of societal and structural inequalities, and proven experience in effectively establishing relationships and positive communications with students and other constituents across multiple dimensions of diversity including, but not limited to, race, gender, varying abilities, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, class, or religious perspectives.

The Department of Social Sciences in the School of Education, Social Sciences, and the Arts (SESA) is seeking to fill a nine-month, tenure track faculty position at the assistant rank beginning August 2024.
The Political Science minor is located within the Department of Social Sciences ).
The Department also offers courses in Philosophy, undergraduate degrees in History, Sociology, and Sociology/Social Work, and a doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership.
All areas of specialization will be considered.Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in American Government and Politics, Logic and Critical Thinking, Ethics, and courses relevant to preparation for Legal Studies.
