Science Software Developer at University of California Los Angeles

Salary Range: USD $71,500.00/Yr. - USD $154,900.00/Yr.

About the Company: The Department of Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences at UCLA is a vibrant academic unit within the College of Letters and Science. We house a diverse group of academic researchers, scientists, and students dedicated to exploring Earth and space systems.

Job Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Applications Programmer to join the dynamic research program of the Department of Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences.

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of scientific programming experience (Required)
Proficiency in Java, Python, and C++ programming (Required)
Proficiency in WEB 2.0 technologies (HTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS) (Required)
Knowledge of calling and developing REST-ful services using . Java is a plus (Required)
Familiarity with GitHub Markdown for documentation (Preferred)
Experience with JavaScript, jQuery library, and Agile programming (Required)
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively with teams (Required)
Fluency in English (Required)
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures (Required)

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent field (Required)

Special Employment Conditions:

Completion of a satisfactory background investigation is mandatory for continued employment.
A Live Scan background check is required before the start of employment.

Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
