The Role
The Payroll Representative performs all activities related to the processing of the Company's bi-weekly payroll and maintains related records.
A Payroll Clerk, or Payroll Administrator, process employees' paychecks by collecting their payroll data and timesheets.
Their duties include verifying employees' work hours and payment through the payroll system, issuing deductions, earnings and other statements to employees and updating payroll records regularly.

- Assumes the Payroll Manager responsibilities in their absence including oversight of the payroll process, preparing reports, system maintenance and regulatory compliance
- Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, taxing jurisdictions and other information
- Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
- Applies for and sets up taxing jurisdictions when establishing employment in a new State
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Monitors payroll liabilities by reviewing payroll runs to identify any discrepancies
- Reviews the biweekly general ledger interface to identify any discrepancies and advises management accordingly
- Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing data to determine corrective action
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests
- Facilitates audits by regulatory agencies
- Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, savings deduction, and employee information
- Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors
- Perform other duties as assigned
You Need to Have
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- A minimum of two years payroll processing experience with extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
- Proficient with payroll software, Paylocity experience is strongly preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
