The Medical Assistant (MA) is a medical assistant who performs duties supporting the clinical and administrative operations of the practice.

This position requires a dynamic person with a great attitude and work ethic, who can handle a fast-paced environment and moderate levels of stress.

  • The MA is largely responsible for patient intake and documentation within patient medical records
  • Maintenance of medical equipment
  • Supporting inoffice procedures
  • Major job responsibilities will be setting up for all cardiovascular inhouse testing (stresstest, echocardiograms, stress w/echo, carotid ultrasounds)
  • Preparing for minor procedures
  • Administering injections
  • Rooming and preparing patients for visits
The work of the MA will vary and is largely driven by the real-time needs. It is imperative for employees to possess a positive attitude at all times. Patients must be greeted and spoken to with a smile. Staff must be aware of all responsibilities assigned to him or her and able to self-start on tasks. Regular, timely attendance is an essential function of the position.

  • Must have highschool diploma and (preferred, but not required) completed formal studies from an accredited medical assistant school (either diploma, degree or certified);
  • Intermediate understanding and use of medical terminology along with intermediate understanding of insurance types and priorauthorization/appeal processes;
  • Phone Skills: Ability to use phone system, handle complex calls requiring clinical information gathering, triage with detailed, clear, and accurate information;
  • Verbal Skills: Ability to articulate detailed information regarding the services provided by practice. CMAs are expected to achieve an advanced level of understanding around the services provided;
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, follow established protocols, and work within designed systems; and
  • Exceptional customer service and people skills with the ability to stay calm in any situation and recognize when someone (patients or clinicians) are require assistance. Must have a desire to proactively work to resolve any issues that may arise.

Pay:
$ $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
