Biology Faculty (Genetics)

Full-time (9-Month)

Division Director of Sciences
JOB SUMMARY:
With consultation of the Sciences Division Director and Program Director, the Biology Faculty (Genetics) is responsible for the instruction of undergraduate genetics lecture and laboratory, along with other undergraduate courses, such as, vertebrate physiology, molecular biology, experimental design, cell biology, foundations of biology and virology.
Teaching load is 24 instructional units (credit hours) per year. Research projects involving undergraduates and service to the university is required.Major Responsibilities/Activities
- Adheres to all university academic and employment policies identified in the Employee and Faculty handbooks and academic catalogs.
- Participates in recruitment, retention, and development efforts in coordination with division members and/or Enrollment Services.
- Fulfills fulltime contracted teaching load as defined by the faculty handbook.
- Engages in Scholarship as defined by the Boyer Model, including, but not limited to activities identified in the faculty handbook.
- Respects the moral and religious beliefs of the university and students; uses discretion when expressing personal beliefs and views.
- Attends program, division, college, and university meetings as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Department Chair of Biology and/or college Dean.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Doctorate within the discipline.
Experience
- Evidence of successful teaching, and a commitment to the institution's small school, Catholic and Franciscan Mission and Values.
Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching and service in a studentcentered, highly collaborative environment, teaching health preprofessionals and environmental scientists.
