So, what will an Events Program Manager at Terrestris do?_


As a program manager for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, the role involves overseeing the coordination of dignitary protection during the annual UNGA meeting.

Working closely with the Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Dignitary Protection Division (DS/P/DP), the program manager is tasked with identifying, staffing, and executing protective planning operations.

This includes coordinating and contracting for hotel and support services within specific boundaries in Manhattan, New York City, ensuring a safe environment for U.S.

government and contractor employees, and managing around 8,000 to 9,000 room nights centrally located within Manhattan.

Additionally, the program manager must ensure that hotel rooms can be easily converted to offices and provide daily accommodations for DS special agents and support staff, ideally locating the command post and sleeping rooms for the core support team in the same hotel.

The manager must adhere to technical requirements outlined in the Statement of Work and ensure all logĂ­stical needs are met to support the Department of State's mission during this high-profile event.

What does a typical day look like for an Events Program Manager?_


You will:
- _Conduct market research to identify facilities that meet the Government's requirements._
- _Prepare summary reports of market research._
- _Participate in meetings with Government staff to discuss Government requirements to determine destination, travel arrangements, travel dates, financial considerations, and accommodation requirements._
- _Compute estimated cost of accommodations including fees._
- _Book hotel reservations using a computer or telephone._
- _Modify hotel reservations using a computer or telephone._
- _Provide the Government with public information on each site including website information, brochures, and publications containing travel information such as local customs, points of interest, or foreign country regulations._
- _Any other duties the offeror has determined will support this requirement._

What qualifications do you look for?_

You might be the leader we're looking for if you have:

  • An active Secret Security clearance.
  • At least eight years of program management experience in the travel industry including managing projects similar in scope.
  • Ability to work with a computer to conduct market research, make reservations, draft reports.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in the English language.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This included customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing and promoting products and services.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people by air, sea, rail, or road and the relative costs and benefits.
  • Excellent clerical skills.
