- Identify and design tooling and fixtures to enable safe and efficient machining of large parts/assemblies.
- Recommend and procure tooling for various style machines. EX: Mills, Lathes, Grinders, Mill-Turns.
- Develop quotations for fixtures and machining of large parts across multiple machines.
- Interaction with equipment acquisition team members during acquisition of new NC machine tools.
- Ability to apply software specific to role: Oracle and a CAM software EX: Solid Edge, Master CAM, NX as well as MS office and TeamCenter
- Participate in Kaizen Events, Process Mapping and Project Readiness reviews.
- Identify new and/or improved processes for reducing rework, cycle-time, and costs for assigned projects.
- Review Machining Non-Conformances and give recommendations on preventing recurrences.
- Understand and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing concepts.
- Provide Shop support for assigned projects.
- BS in mechanical or Manufacturing Engineer or equivalent
- Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in large machining.
- Minimum of five (5) years' NC Programing experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience modeling of machining fixtures using a CAM system.
- Blue print reading, particularly involving GD&T per ASME Y14.5M
- Experience working with commercial nuclear and/or military quality systems
- Must be sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance

Description
We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.
Under general direction, develops new or modified process formulations, defines processing or handling equipment requirements and specifications, and reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of products, with the objective to produce new products/processes, improve quality, increase efficiency and reduce cost. Involvement may begin at any step from pilot plant to full-scale manufacturing. Coordinates design requirement review with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods. Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications. May conceive and plan projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes.
