    Overview: The Business Development Officer is responsible for the growth and expansion of MCU by identifying and creating new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with Select Employee Groups (SEGs) and implementing strategies to drive revenue growth. This is an outside sales position focused on the acquisition and development of membership through employer-based relationships. Responsible for participating in activities centered on prospecting new members and cross-sell opportunities to existing members including outbound calling and networking.

    Responsibilities:

    Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Confidently articulate features and benefits to sell consumer accounts, financial services and loans including home equity products
    • Research new business opportunities through networking and cold calling
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with SEGS to understand their needs and promote our products and services
    • Create and deliver presentations to SEGS showcasing products and services
    • Analyze market trends and competition
    • Collaborate with marketing team to devise strategies for membership growth
    • Achieve and surpass goals for Community Engagement and Member Engagement.
    • Provide premier service to all members and SEGS
    • Attend networking events that help build new relationships with decision makers in the Metro NY area
    • Utilize effective sales management tactics to leverage relationships and drive sales results that aid in annual scorecard achievement
    • Identify cross-selling opportunities, including call efforts to cross sell additional products and services to members
    • Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Experience in business development, sales or a related field
    • Strong understanding of sales principles and techniques
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Flexible schedule to include weekends and evenings
    • Strong presentation skills
    • Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
    • Technologically proficient.
