Summary of Functions
  • Operate and maintain heavy motorized equipment for earth moving operations safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Embrace Forgen's Core Values throughout job activities.
  • Participate in a drug-free workplace with a random drug testing program.
  • Promote a safety culture for Incident and Injury Free Performance.
  • Operate a variety of heavy motorized equipment for earth moving operations.
  • Excavate, grade, and compact land surfaces using heavy construction equipment.
  • Utilize hand-held mobile radio units for task coordination.
  • Read and adhere to safety protocols, maintenance instructions, training materials, and safety procedures.
  • Take on additional assignments and special projects as assigned.
Experience/Education
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Operator 1: 10+ years of heavy equipment operation/maintenance experience.
  • Operator 2: 5+ years of heavy equipment operation/maintenance experience.
  • Operator 3: 2+ years of heavy equipment operation/maintenance experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to drive for company business.
  • Preferred safety training (company will provide additional if needed).
  • Various safety training certifications preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of construction and maintenance materials and methods.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Strong safety commitment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Physical Demands
  • Lift, carry and push/pull at least 50 pounds without difficulty.
