- Responsibilities:
- Provide care to patients of all ages in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, surgery, and emergency department.
- Function as a first assist in the operating room and participate in consultations and admissions.
- Collaborate with a team of skilled surgeons dedicated to utilizing the latest techniques and technologies for the best patient outcomes.
- All required certifications must be up to date before starting date:
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Adult Surgery.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for Pediatric Surgery.
- DHEC and DEA licenses.
- Conduct patient assessments, provide treatment, and initiate referrals as needed.
- Document and bill for services rendered.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research.
- Support regulatory and compliance activities.
- Participate in professional development and precepting of students.
- Comply with all licensing and certification requirements.
- Travel between Northeast and Downtown Columbia Campuses may be required.

Description
MUSC Health Orangeburg Medical Center General Surgery is currently seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join their team. If you are passionate about providing high-quality patient care across different settings, this might be the perfect opportunity for you. Here is some key information about the position:
Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Salaried/Exempt
Hours per week: 40
Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: Monday thru Friday 7am-5pm. Flexibility required due to OR schedule. On-call coverage necessary.
Patient Focus: Inpatient, Outpatient, Operating Room/First Assist, Procedural Unit, Emergency Department Management/Consultation
Minimum Training and Experience: Completion of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. Current licensure or eligibility, along with FNP certification (Family NP).
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a surgical first assist APP is preferred.
Supervision: Will be under the supervision of a Primary Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC.
