  • Salary range: $59, $68, THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR REMOTE WORK FOR UP TO 2 DAYS PER WEEK, PURSUANT TO THE REMOTE WORK PILOT PROGRAM.
  • External Affairs (EA) is the intergovernmental division of the agency and custodian of DCWP's relationship with City Hall, elected officials, government entities, community and faithbased organizations, and stakeholders with broad policy and public affairs jurisdiction. EA is responsible for these relationships to ensure that the agency speaks with a singular and consistent voice to officials and entities that have touchpoints across DCWP's wide jurisdiction.
  • EA is seeking a results driven, selfstarting individual to serve as a Community Affairs Associate.
Under the supervision of the Director of Community Affairs, the individual will be responsible for work activities including, but not limited, to:

  • Developing and maintaining external relationships with elected officials, government agencies, industry and community stakeholders, and members of the public;
  • Accurately and concisely representing the work and policies of the agency in an engaging manner;
  • Coordinating event logistics, locations, materials, staffing, and trainings;
  • Effectively linking with other departmental divisions to ensure project success; and
  • Providing administrative support and assistance in special or adhoc projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or

  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or


Preferred Skills- Proven leadership skills, including the ability to think and plan strategically and proven success developing and supporting high performing diverse work teams - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability and aptitude to quickly learn new computer programs and technology - Excellent written and verbal communication - Ability to capture and analyze data - Ability to read and understand laws and rules - Experience in handling multiple assignments with competing deadlines with a high degree of detail and accuracy - Multilingual capacity is highly preferred.

Spanish, French, Haitian Creole, and Mandarin is a plus. - Driver's license a plus and - Flexibility in hours.
