POSITION:

STUDENT RECRUITMENT & COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST**
LOCATION:ADMISSIONS**
JOB SUMMARY:Under the coordination of the Director of Admissions, the Student Recruitment and Communications Specialist assists in gathering exciting content to be used in recruitment collateral, take photos, conducts interviews, writes articles and contributes to the college social media channels.

The Communications Specialist builds out and supports a multi-level communication plan for constituents across the admissions funnel.


DUTIES:


  • Responsible for collaborating with Enrollment Offices to develop the marketing and communication strategies managed through the Customer Relation Management (CRM) system for applicants and admitted students.
  • Maintain understanding of general marketing principles and communication goals of the department, division, and university.
  • Assures coordination of recruitment and admission activities by acting as a liaison between the Colleges i.e. College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, College of Professional Studies, School of Business.
  • Develop associated marketing campaigns and communication products.
  • Review past communication campaigns and messaging for revisions/efficacy.
  • Manage the "behind the scenes" aspects of recruitment programs using Slate data and providing reports and metrics to the Director for strategic planning and assessment.
  • Assist the Director in assessing the effectiveness of proposed publications.
  • Perform system configuration in Slate to support Admissions and campuswide recruitment efforts and tracking.
  • Determining appropriate recruitment strategies; and monitoring effectiveness of outreach efforts.
  • Work with the Director of Admissions to determine goals and objectives for alternate outreach efforts including establishing feeder programs with high schools, communitybased organizations, and faith communities.

  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with students, faculty, staff, and members of the community.
  • Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
  • Ability to be dependable and trustworthy.
  • Ability to become proficient with computers (especially PeopleSoft and Slate) to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others.

EDUCATION:
bachelor's Degree


EXPERIENCE:
(1) one year of experience. Preferred three (3) years of professional experience in an institution of higher education is required, Slate experience preferred.
