The Heisenberg Chair of Mechanics of Active Biomaterials at the Cluster of Excellence "Physics of Life" (PoL) is seeking a Research Associate/PhD student (M/F/x) to join their team starting on December 1, 2023.

This position is part-time (65% of full-time hours) and is initially limited until November 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension.

The position offers the opportunity for further academic qualification, typically a PhD.


Responsibilities for this position include conducting scientific research within the Heisenberg Chair of Mechanics of Active Biomaterials, led by Prof.

Dr. Elisabeth Fischer-Friedrich. The focus of the research will be on the experimental examination of pattern formation and viscoelastic dynamics of the cell cortex, with the goal of better understanding
