    Plant QA Manager

    • Lead the facility in all Food Safety, Packaging Quality and Product Quality related activities.

    Serve as the primary plant liaison within the facility for all Company Quality Assurance Initiatives, Niagara Corporate Quality and Third Party AuditsTrend analytical data and develop initiatives to improve plant performance against Niagara quality measures and ensure plant compliance with company and regulatory standardsTrack, analyze, and lead root cause analysis for all quality and customer complaint issues within the plantEnsure compliance and record keeping for all mandated quality checks, testing, sampling and sanitation activities within the plantMonitor the microbiological program; collect and conduct microbiological analysis of product and process samples when necessaryPerform water testing equipment evaluations and calibrationsConduct regular reviews of the facility's Pre-requisite Programs, GMP Compliance and Sanitation ComplianceServe as the facility Food Safety Program Coordinator, HACCP Coordinator and SQF PractitionerManage budgeting, purchasing and inventory of QA operating supplies such as filters, chemicals and lab suppliesMonitor the performance and competencies of plant QA staff and provide leadership, coaching, discipline and development as neededAssist the Research & Development team with formulation adjustments, product evaluations, and product launch activitiesMaintain a safe work environment and support all plant safety programsAssist with weekend and holiday coverage as neededPlease note this job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.

    Work Experience/KSA'sRequired:


    3-5 years experience in the field0-2 year(s) experience supervising employees *experience may include a combination of work experience and educationPreferred:5-7 years experience in the field2-4 years experience supervising employees *experience may include a combination of work experience and educationCompetenciesComputer literate with proficiency in, but not limited to: Microsoft Office Applications, Visio, Oracle Business Systems, Infinity QS, etcDetail-Oriented with Excellent Oral and Written Communication SkillsKnowledge of water chemistry, microbiological analysis methods, chemical analysis methods, laboratory systems and beverage sanitation practicesDemonstrated ability to use data for creative problem solving, experience using statistical software packagesStrong interpersonal skills, clear communicator, and demonstrated relationship building skills.

    Ability to function through influence in the absence of having positional authorityAbility to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, clients, customers or general publicExperience working with the implementation and oversight of continuous improvement initiativesDemonstrated project management skills on cross functional initiativesCreativity in developing new ways of working / methodologyStrong organization and planning skills with the ability to multi taskMust work well under pressure in a very fast paced environmentAbility to provide after-hours support to a 24 X 7 operation for critical issuesSelf-Motivated with the ability to work independently and show initiativeAbility to work in a cross functional team environment under time pressureDemonstrated strength and ability to use data, not opinions, to drive fact based changesEducation

    Minimum Required:

    Bachelor of Science in Food Science /Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering, or comparable field experience preferredPreferred: Master's Degree in Food Science /Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering, or comparable field experience preferredCertification/License: Required: N/APreferred: HACCP employment agency, person or entity that submits a résumé into this career site or to a hiring manager does so with the understanding that the applicant's résumé will become the property of Niagara Bottling, LLC.
