Site Information- Long Branch BGC located -231 Wilbur Ray Avenue Long Branch, NJ Embedded summer camp tutoring program- Exact schedule


TBD:
3 days per week (Monday -Wed)- Hours to not exceed 12 hours per week


BASIC FUNCTION
The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-dosage tutoring for K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps.

The New Jersey Tutoring Corps seeks to hire tutors to work with scholars in partnership with Asbury Park's Boys & Girls Club.

Tutors will work with small groups of scholars, typically in groups of 1-4, in grades K-8 in building skills in math and literacy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Engage with scholars in grades K-8 to build on existing mathematics and/or literacy skills;- Complete daily records on scholar progress and site needs using the tools provided;- Use data to drive instruction;- Communicate regularly with your site coordinator to provide optimum learning
- experiences for scholars;
  • Participate in coaching from an instructional coach;
  • Use an assetbased approach in working with scholars;
  • Be responsive and work collaboratively with other tutors and site staff;
  • Complete all training;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

EMPLOYER QUALIFICATIONS- Tutor must be able to:

  • Arrive to work on time,-
  • Prepare lessons digitally,-
  • Take attendance digitally and sit with students for 4-8 hours a day,-
  • Clearly communicate instructions to students in grades K through -
  • Professional skills include attention to detail, timely and proactive communication, and job preparedness;-
  • Genuine desire to work with young children in a teaching capacity, building on foundational skills and closing learning gaps using formative and summative data and strong teaching pedagogy;
  • Experience working with young children, preferably in a learning and teaching capacity;
  • NJ Fingerprint Certificate and Background Clearance
  • The final offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and employment authorization verification;
  • Must adhere to local health department and school district requirements for the site at which you are working, including any mask rules that must be followed if applicable.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to sites.
