Associations Manager & Meeting Planner

Reports To:
Department Director
Knowledge and Skills
- 3+ years' experience Degree business, communications or marketing
- Conceptual thinker and problem solver
- Experience in association management and event planning
- Strong organizational, verbal and communication skills
- Capability to work and/or ability to learn in digital platforms, including Customer Relationship Management systems (a plus)
- Certified association executive (CAE) or certified meeting planner (CMP) a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs Including Word, Excel and Outlook
Responsibilities
Association Management
Manage business aspect of assigned membership association clients, serving as their manager for membership, committees and communication; fulfilling the goals and tactics defined in the association's annual plan.
- Execute annual plan
- Manage daytoday tasks, including member communications, committee support, conference logistics
- Communicate with members regarding events and programs
- Track programs to annual budget
Create programs to communicate with members to generate positive relationships and secure retention.
- Manage member communication including newsletters, eblasts
- Oversee the website to ensure postings are relevant and informative
- Create networking engagement between members to provide value
Plan and manage the details of association events - both live and digital - to create meaningful engagement for the membership.
- Assist in site selection process and hotel contract negotiations
- Manage logistics for meetings, including program, speakers, registration, badges and meeting materials
- Coordinate hotel logistics and activities for various meetings
- Assist with continuing education programs
Develop relationships with boards and members to be a resource for the organization and represent the mission in the marketplace
- Support membership requests
- Answer member inquiries
- Onboard and communicate with new members
Contributes to the effective functioning of the department and the agency.

- Represents the company in a positive, professional manner during client interaction.
