Summary/Objective


The Assistant Project Manager (APM) works with the Project Manager and the NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) management staff to provide the leadership, expertise, creativity, passion, and energy to develop and execute best-practice principles, approaches, and philosophies to support Native Resource Development Company Inc.

(NRDCI) and the required day-to-day operational activities.

Oversees the scheduling of the janitorial staff to ensure all work is done safely and efficiently. Responsible for adhering to current budget requirements. Building and maintaining onsite client relationships throughout the facility is vital to this position. Ensures reporting and administration duties are completed according to the contract language.

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating all onsite janitorial operations. This position will oversee, direct, and evaluate the work of approximately 50 full-time employees. The Assistant Project Manager will fill in for the Project Manager in times of absence.


In the absence of the Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager must plan and execute per agreed budgets, schedules, quality standards, and costs.

This includes allocating tasks to resources and coordinating the efforts of team members to achieve Substantial Confidence ratings from our clients.

Assists the Project Manager in preparing task/call order proposals in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. Knowledgeable of various contracting core administrative concepts, practices, and procedures, as well as maintaining Data Requirement Deliverables (DRD) compliance. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.

May lead and direct the work of others.


Duties:


  • Serves as the department's office manager.
  • Assists the Project Manager with overall site operation and is jointly accountable for project results.
  • Assists with new hire orientations and employee training.
  • Develop and Assist with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Schedules vehicle preventive maintenance with the Company's fleet management office.
  • Scheduling Vendors to come onsite to repair fleet and equipment.
  • Review invoices for accuracy.
  • Prepare Monthly Credit Card expense report audits.
  • Keeps the department property and supplies inventory records current.
  • Understands and trains others in current janitorial operations/processes and equipment.
  • Manages the department's laundry service to ensure an adequate supply of clean towels, mops, and other laundered items.
  • Visits Clients and Facility Managers to ensure their satisfaction with NRDCIprovided services.
  • Responds to all issues and concerns in a timely manner; effectively resolves all issues to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Track Pest Control service orders, Haul requests (Rolloffs, Pit area, Compactor), and complaints.
  • Turns in monthly contractually required reports
  • Data Requirement Deliverables (DRD) reports.
  • Plans, directs, and manages the NRDCI Site Safety Program under the general directions of the Project Manager.
  • Assists in, plans, and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and National Aeronautical Space Administration (NASA).
  • Identifies and advises the Project Manager and Corporate management on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
  • Plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices.
  • Maintains safety files and records.
  • Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Conducts postaccident investigation and prepares reports identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.
  • Ensures biweekly safety training and all reports specifically required training are provided for all employees.
  • Ensures that the OSHA 300 log of occupational injuries and illnesses is maintained; posts the annual summary from February 1st through April 30th at each work location.
  • Assists in the development, evaluation, and upgrading of safety programs.
  • Assists the Project Manager in directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining subordinates, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and terminating employees.
  • Conducts periodic quality control, safety, and health walkthrough inspections of all workplace facilities.
  • Assures all Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information is up to date and correctly displayed.
  • In their absence, the interim Project Manager fills in and performs duties as outlined in the Project Manager job description.
  • Oversees the Production and Quality Control System for the site.
