How you will create an impactFocused on Mass Tort, Toxic Tort, Environmental, Property Damage, Coverage B, Long Tail, Bodily Injury or Class Actions, you will be responsible for a portfolio of high value, complex claims from coverage inquiry through legal liability assessment and quantum analysis, to timely and accurate resolution.
Your goal will be timely, accurate and customer-focused claim resolution, minimizing indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor and legal expense – you will actively promote and demonstrate the principles of 'Treating Customers Fairly' in claims handling.
You will communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders in your role as our Complex Casualty technical claims expert and thought leader.
As a senior member of the team, you will act as a deputy for the Team Manager, and will provide training, and be a technical referral point for colleagues.
You will also contribute to continuous improvement in Claims by supporting Quality Assurance / Regional Audit processes, ensuring mitigation of indemnity and expense exposure while communicating developments and outcomes as necessary to all key internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeedAdvanced knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements for Complex Casualty Claims.
Experience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration and ADR skills on higher value complex claims.
Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.
A track record of following up effectively on recommendations from technical claims audits and continuous file handling improvement.
The ability to influence claims and non-claims stakeholders to effectively direct claims strategy.
The ability to assist with technical training to the team's claim handlers as required.

$89,000-$110,000.
