Job Summary


The Delivery Driver Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery, setup, and pick-up of durable medical equipment, medicine, and supplies to home care patients.

This role also involves repairing and inspecting rental durable medical equipment for patients and clients.

The Delivery Driver Technician is responsible for representing the company positively, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.


Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist in pulling equipment and supplies from the warehouse based on patient/client delivery tickets.
  • Load equipment and supplies onto delivery vehicles in an organized manner.
  • Determine the best daily route, then drive the delivery vehicle to deliver medical equipment and supplies to patients/clients' homes.
  • Set up equipment in customers' homes and provide orientation and instruction on usage when required.
  • Collaborate with patients/clients to solve problems, ensuring their needs are met while representing the company effectively.
  • Pick up rental equipment as directed and return it to the warehouse facility.
  • Complete delivery and pickup paperwork accurately and promptly, submitting it to appropriate facility personnel.
  • Perform minor repair work and maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Conduct daily preventive maintenance on the assigned vehicle.
  • Maintain a professional and neat personal appearance.
  • Foster a sense of teamwork among coworkers and assist fellow drivers as necessary.
  • Repair and maintain rental wheelchairs and troubleshoot electric and manual hospital beds in patients' homes.
  • Perform warehouse and office maintenance tasks as required.
  • Demonstrate patience, courtesy, and timeliness when interacting with customers.
  • Uphold a positive and professional image of the company during all interactions.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.

License/Certification

  • Valid Driver's License.

Health Requirements

  • Good physical condition.
  • Successful completion of a Tuberculosis skin test (PPD) within 30 days of employment.

Other Requirements

  • Successful completion of driving and criminal background checks upon hire and annually.
  • Drug or alcohol screening test upon hire and at random during employment.

Competency Requirements

  • Driver Technician Competency.

Experience/Knowledge

  • Possession of the necessary driver's license and applicable medical certification card.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience or completion of factory training seminar for home medical equipment preferred.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Strong organizational skills and problemsolving ability.
  • Willingness to collaborate as a cooperative team member.
  • Responsible and cooperative attitude.
  • Clean and neat personal appearance.
  • Detailed knowledge of the delivery area.

Physical Demands

  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking at the desk, office, and throughout the facility.
  • Operation of office machinery and equipment.
  • Occasional lifting/moving items up to 100 pounds.
  • Visual abilities for reading documents, calculators, and computer screens.

The Delivery Driver Technician is responsible for the delivery, set-up and pick-up of DME equipment, medicine, and supplies to home care patients within a prescribed and assigned geographical area.

The Driver/Technician repairs and inspects rental durable medical equipment for patients/clients.

$ $18.00 per hour
