Quality Control Technician (2nd Shift) -Meat Manufacturing, USDA SQF Regulated, Food Plant

We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician for our second shift to help take our Quality Control / Quality Assurance Department to new heights and oversee a dedicated project team focused on quality optimization initiatives.
Position Overview
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance
- Help ensure the plant's compliance with all relevant food safety and quality control requirements.
- Adhere to and execute quality control procedures in alignment with regulatory guidelines.
- Assist with product labeling and development from the USDA compliance respect.
- Interface with USDA Plant Inspector(s) as required.
SQF Certification
- Assist with the execution of the annual SQF audit, ensuring the plant's continued compliance and successful recertification.
- Collaborate with certification bodies and internal teams to address SQFrelated matters.
Halal Certification and Audit Oversight
- Assist with the Halal certification process and the annual Halal audit.
- Help ensure compliance with Halal requirements.
Quality Assurance
- Help maintain and execute quality assurance programs to monitor and enhance the quality of finished products.
- Participate in regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with established standards.
Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to integrate quality control measures into various stages of the production process.
- Foster effective communication and cooperation between Quality Control, Production, and other relevant departments.
Project Team Oversight
- Assist in the execution of strategies to optimize product quality, reduce defects, and contribute to the overall success and reputation of Ritter Foods LLC.
Plant Safety Measures
- Collaborate with safety professionals to address safetyrelated concerns and implement preventive measures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Quality Control experience in a USDA regulated food manufacturing environment.
- Indepth knowledge of USDA regulations and SQF standards or equivalent certification.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Bilingual (English and Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in a team environment, helping to develop and elevate a Quality Control Department.
- Ability to conduct thorough audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- As this is a second shift position, afternoon and evening availability Monday-Friday is required along with weekend availability as needed.
