CLASSIFICATION DESCRIPTION:


GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK:

Key Responsibilities
Research and identify available grants, requirements, and submission deadlines for which the city is eligible.
Assist in the preparation of periodic and final reports detailing grant expenditures.
Conduct research, compile, and summarize various informational and statistical data and materials.
Effectively organize workload, prioritize tasks, meet critical deadlines, and follow up on assignments independently.
Demonstrate proficiency in rapidly entering and retrieving data, exercising tact, discretion, initiative, and judgment within established guidelines.
Communicate clearly and persuasively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to comprehend and interpret professional literature, technical procedures, and government regulations.
Other duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Proficiency in grant administration principles and practices, financial management, accounting, budgeting, proposal development, and grant writing is essential. Familiarity with relevant state, federal, and local regulations is desired. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Ability to articulate information effectively and work with minimum direct supervision.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a fouryear college or university.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in grant writing, with a proven track record of successfully obtaining grants, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Preferred experience in grant writing for public sector organizations.

Applicants must be able to provide the following documents: a writing sample, a list of successful grant awards, and a sample abstract for a funded grant.
