Berkley is seeking a highly creative and strategic individual to join the team as a Marketing Manager. In this role, you will work on a variety of titles from all genres that Berkley publishes.

You will be responsible for attending author meetings, creating and implementing marketing plans, booking advertising for your titles, and contributing ideas to the Berkley brand.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for marketing for their titles, both frontlist and backlist.


Specific responsibilities include:


  • Creating and executing full marketing plans: from prepublication strategy to consumers, booksellers, and librarians, including a social media campaign, to atlaunch publication advertising campaigns
  • Communicating directly with authors, agents, and editors about the campaign
  • Explaining social media strategy, newsletter setup and strategy to authors and agents
  • Exploring crosspromotions including sweepstakes with other imprints/houses and partnerships
  • Analyzing data of ad campaigns, from paid social to vendors, to book most effective vendors for titles
  • Managing and maintaining budget for each title
  • Collaborating with the team on seasonal promotions and contributing ideas to brand's social media content and strategy
  • Atleast 4 years of marketing experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel or Google Docs/Sheets/Slides/Forms
  • A keen understanding of book marketing a plus
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop a plus
  • Knowledge of Google, Facebook, Tiktok, and Instagram advertising a plus
