THE POSITION:


WHAT YOU'LL DO:


  • CASE MANAGEMENT, PROGRAM PARTICIPANT SUPPORT, AND EMPLOYMENT SERVICES DUTIES_
  • Responsible for case management and support of both employed and unemployed program participants
  • Assess program participants for job readiness and barriers to employment, including legal, educational, and employment history
  • Evaluates program participants job skills and interests through resume critique and communication.
  • Shares weekly job leads, employment workshops, job fairs, training opportunities, and other employmentrelated events with program participants
  • Informs program participants of job openings and details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, working conditions, and expectations
  • Communicates with employment coordinators any specialized industry to target based on program participant skills, interests, etc.
  • Drives personal vehicle in and around Los Angeles County and drive agency vehicles periodically to transport program participants if needed
  • DATA TRACKING AND PROGRAM OUTCOMES_
  • Monitors and documents program participant progress. Maintain accurate records for reporting and statistical purposes
  • Maintain current resources for program participants to facilitate employment search, soft skill training, and/or resources to overcome barriers
  • FOSTER INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL PARTNERSHIPS_
  • Participates at community events, job fairs, meetings, and case conferencing when needed to ensure program participants can successfully acquire employment
  • Participates in LAFH meetings, supervision, and weekly case conferences by sharing best practices and providing support to colleagues
  • Provides training ideas and resources to LAFH teams, including the opportunity to conduct training within the department and across the organization
  • OTHER_
  • Attend various regular staff, agency, and community meetings as directed by the supervisor
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Additional tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

WHAT YOU'RE SKILLED AT:


  • Knowledge of government assistance programs (unemployment, SSI/SSDI, GR, etc.)
  • Knowledge of employment services, including how to identify transferable skills for job matching
  • Understanding of communitybased programs that offer education and/or job training
  • Strong organizational skills, including effective time management and the ability to work and make decisions independently
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred, but not required
  • Able to communicate orally and in writing at a business level
  • Resultsoriented, selfmotivated, and selfdirected
  • Ability to work individually and on a team

WHAT YOU'VE ACCOMPLISHED:


  • At least one (1) year work history and relevant transferrable skills
