- Identifies, assesses, diagnoses, manages and interprets test results related to disorders of human hearing, balance and other neural systems for neonatal through geriatric populations.
- Conducts and supervises newborn hearing screening programs. Measures and interprets tests for neurophysiologic intraoperative monitoring and cranial nerve assessment. Conducts tests of hearing, balance and neural system dysfunction. Conducts otoscopic examinations and manages external ear canal. Evaluates and manages children and adults with central auditory processing disorders.
- Selects, evaluates, fits, facilities adjustment to and dispensing hearing aids, cochlear implants, sensory aids, hearing assistive devices, alerting systems, telecommunication systems and captioning devices.
- Provides audiological rehabilitation including speech-reading, communication management, language development, counseling for psychosocial adjustments to hearing loss for persons with hearing loss and their families and caregivers.
- Acts as a consultant to educators as members of interdisciplinary teams about communication management, education implications of hearing loss, education programming, classroom acoustics, large area amplification systems for children with hearing loss.
- Master's or Doctorate Degree in Audiology from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Massachusetts' Audiologist license.
- Attainment of the Certificate of Clinical Competence within six months of date of hire.
- One-year experience.
