    VP of Technology & Product Operations

    (3-day Hybrid in Austin, TX)

    We aim to radically simplify the home buying/selling process and to help more people achieve the dream of home ownership.

    To help us achieve this mission we are looking for a VP of Technology & Product Operations reporting to the CPTO.


    In this role, you will operate as the right hand of the CPTO, lead critical engineering programs, drive strategic alignment and communication across the 500+ person technology organization, and support our long-term product and engineering strategy.

    Additionally, you will be responsible for developing a strong sense of culture and community within the organization - organizing hackathons, spearheading our diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and helping build a world-class technology org and culture.

    You'll be a key member of the engineering leadership team, reporting to the CPTO.

    Key Responsibilities


    • Own and lead the strategic planning process for technology and product operations, aligning with overall company goals and objectives.
    • Act as a trusted advisor and operator for the CPTO, who can fill in as necessary in meetings, synthesizing information and feedback for quick decision-making.
    • Oversee program management activities to ensure the successful execution of technology and product initiatives, including resource allocation, timeline management, and risk mitigation.
    • Establish and maintain an effective operating rhythm to drive efficiency and accountability within the technology and product teams.
    • Manage the development delivery process, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of products and solutions.
    • Lead contract workforce management efforts, including vendor selection, negotiation, and ongoing performance management.
    • Drive the development and expansion of nearshore locations to support technology and product operations.
    • Prepare and deliver executive-level reports and presentations on technology investments, progress, and outcomes.
    • Partner closely with NewsCorp Global Tech Leadership and represent in external forum.
    • Partner with engineering leadership and our human resources team to drive our technology hiring strategy and process
    • Lead key initiatives around purpose, talent, decision-making, priorities, community, and communications to help our CPTO nurture and scale our culture.

    • A strategic thinker, disciplined planner, and strong operator who has proven experience working closely with engineering leadership
    • Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives and managing stakeholders
    • Track record of building and leading high performing teams
    • A highly collaborative leader with a track record of building effective cross-functional teams and relationships
    • Deep appreciation for the strategic importance of diversity, equity and inclusion in organizations
    • An engaging communicator, who makes complex and nuanced topics accessible to the larger organization through relevant examples and storytelling
    • World-class written and verbal communication skills including demonstrated capabilities in public speaking, leading meetings and workshops, and creating presentation materials
    • Comfortable in working in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations
    • Exceptional project and program management abilities with a history of driving results on key initiatives across departments
    • Thorough understanding of technology requirements, challenges, and terminology
    • Track record for attracting, organizing, and developing high-performing, diverse teams
    • STEM degree strongly preferred
    • 10+ years of related experience

    For this role, one can work three days of their choice in our Austin, TX office and the remaining two days from home.

    We can support relocation to the Austin area.
