Primary Purpose of the Project Engineer position:
Provide general, logístical, and billing related support within the Purchasing group.
Specific Job Duties:
- Comply with all safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assist purchasing department with procuring nonstock construction related materials.
- Request material quotes from vendors and issue purchase orders accurately and timely.
- Enter and code credit card transactions of the purchasing group and construction field crews.
- Review committed cost report to identify outdated backorders or incomplete orders and correct with suppliers.
- Answer incoming purchasing calls and assist or direct appropriately.
- Assist in logistic scheduling for vendor returns and jobsite deliveries.
- Coordinate deliveries with site personnel and ensure truck availability.
- Coordinate waste management deliveries and pickups.
- Schedule Supplier pickups or deliveries as needed for any purchase orders.
- Serve as a fleet management back up.
- Serve as backup for office expendables and office supply management.
- Serve as liaison for the purchasing group to the accounting department for purchase order reconciliation.
- Perform quarterly credit processing.
- Prepare and process inbound and outbound shipments with proper RBI procedures.
- Ability to negotiate as needed with vendors.
- Aide in the close out of projects with product tracking in the warehouse
- Maintain warehouse and offices regularly as needed.
- Ability to assist others and perform other duties as assigned.
Formal education, certifications and/or experience required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical requirements:
- Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs. and frequently carry 40 lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time as well as stoop, kneel, bend and crouch.
- Must be able to use hands to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects.
- Ability to climb stairs.
Other requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Proficient keyboarding skills
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Ability to work on a team and interact with people.
- Maintain a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude.
- Ability to work assigned schedule (410s) or as needed.
- Ability to operate and drive forklift as needed.
- Participate in training and educational opportunities as offered or required by the company.
- Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening.
- Valid driver's license required and ability to meet company driver qualification policy.
- Any other duties assigned by supervisor or management.
