Primary Purpose of the Project Engineer position:
Provide general, logístical, and billing related support within the Purchasing group.


Specific Job Duties:


  • Comply with all safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist purchasing department with procuring nonstock construction related materials.
  • Request material quotes from vendors and issue purchase orders accurately and timely.
  • Enter and code credit card transactions of the purchasing group and construction field crews.
  • Review committed cost report to identify outdated backorders or incomplete orders and correct with suppliers.
  • Answer incoming purchasing calls and assist or direct appropriately.
  • Assist in logistic scheduling for vendor returns and jobsite deliveries.
  • Coordinate deliveries with site personnel and ensure truck availability.
  • Coordinate waste management deliveries and pickups.
  • Schedule Supplier pickups or deliveries as needed for any purchase orders.
  • Serve as a fleet management back up.
  • Serve as backup for office expendables and office supply management.
  • Serve as liaison for the purchasing group to the accounting department for purchase order reconciliation.
  • Perform quarterly credit processing.
  • Prepare and process inbound and outbound shipments with proper RBI procedures.
  • Ability to negotiate as needed with vendors.
  • Aide in the close out of projects with product tracking in the warehouse
  • Maintain warehouse and offices regularly as needed.
  • Ability to assist others and perform other duties as assigned.

Formal education, certifications and/or experience required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical requirements:


  • Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs. and frequently carry 40 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time as well as stoop, kneel, bend and crouch.
  • Must be able to use hands to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects.
  • Ability to climb stairs.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Proficient keyboarding skills
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Ability to work on a team and interact with people.
  • Maintain a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude.
  • Ability to work assigned schedule (410s) or as needed.
  • Ability to operate and drive forklift as needed.
  • Participate in training and educational opportunities as offered or required by the company.
  • Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening.
  • Valid driver's license required and ability to meet company driver qualification policy.
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor or management.
