Overview:

We are seeking dedicated NYCHA Site Safety Representatives to join our team.

As a Site Safety Representative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety at our construction sites.

Your primary responsibility will be to enforce all safety regulations within the NYCHA Approved Safety Plan, as well as applicable OSHA and NYC Building Code regulations.

This job has a priority for Low-Income or Public Housing Residents. NYCHA, Section 3, Section 8, or Low-Income individuals are encouraged to apply.


Key Responsibilities:

• Enforce all safety regulations within the NYCHA Approved Safety Plan.
• Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA and NYC Building Code regulations.
• Be present onsite at all times during active construction work.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
• Implement safety measures and protocols to prevent accidents.
• Conduct safety training and refreshers for site workers.
• Report and document any safety incidents or violations.

Required Qualifications:
In order to Qualify for this position you MUST have at least 3 out of 5 of the following:

• 1: Site Safety Manager 40-hour course and 7-hour refresher every three years from a Department of Buildings (DOB) approved vendor.
• 2: 32hour Supported Scaffold Erector course and 8hour refresher every four years from a DOB approved vendor.
• 3: 32hour Suspended Scaffold Supervisor course and 8hour refresher every four years from a DOB approved vendor.
• 4: 30hour OSHA Construction Safety course from a Department of Labor approved vendor within the last five calendar years, with verification that the training was proctored in compliance with NYC Local Law 19 5: A minimum of 5 years of construction experience as a field safety representative, foreman, or superintendent.

Certifications:

• Applicable safety certifications as required by NYCHA and NYC regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as an SSR on NYCHA sites.
• Strong understanding of NYCHA safety requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
• Detailoriented with strong organizational skills.
